There is much breathless speculation in the media about President Ramaphosa’s impending cabinet reshuffle.
At a basic level, think tanks promote specific policy-related causes and objectives. Through their work, they seek to influence the thinking of governments, businesses, and other social actors, such as the media.
How unfortunate and ironic that this was the name chosen by the most vocal proponents of Marxist-Leninism in South Africa.
The proposed National Minimum Wage (NMW), due to come into force on 1 May 2018, is a quick fix to a systemic problem that will artificially increase salaries for those who already have a job, rather than create more jobs.
