In April South Africa played host to the second Fair Pricing Forum where healthcare activists once again lobbied government to “Fix the Patent Laws” in a misguided attempt to improve access to medicines.

One of the most frustrating problems that has plagued the SA pharmaceutical landscape for at least the last decade is the inability of the country’s drug regulator to approve medicines timeously.
