South Africans celebrated their first decade of democracy, unaware that their freedoms had started declining after nine years of improvement. The decline has shown up in the Free Market Foundation’s (FMF’s) new index, which measures South Africa’s progress towards freedom and transformation. The annual index, called the South African Freedom
